Colorful chevron mini wishes

Good morning all, a very foggy morning here today, you can barely see few meters far. Hoping to see some sun, its been days since we last saw sun, and I feel already deprived of the much needed brightness.
Anyways, I made a bright card, was motivated by few challenges, and combined all to create this one layer CAS card. the sentiment is computer generated, I wanted to use the words "mini mini" in place of the usual line "many many happy returns of the day". I do have many birthday stamps, but ended up printing the whole sentiment.
I used the new STAMPlorations chevrons stencil to lightly ink the stencil in various colors, the colors are inspired by a challenge too.
All five elements are inspired by five different challenges, and I am glad that I had managed t keep the card CAS, I am pretty happy with the end result. Hope you all like it too.

STAMPlorations goodies

Good morning everyone, I am sharing 2 cards today, yes my mojo is some what crawling back, I don't remember when was the last time that I shared 2 cards in a post. Both these cards are made using STAMPlorations, stamps and stencils.

The first one up is a masked card, I used a ocatagonal panel, which came in from somewhere, and used it as my mask to create the orange panel I stroked the ink inwards. and then I use some homemade embossing paste to emboss the flower from the Bold Blooms stencils, once done, I used the burlap stencil from Tim Holtz to add blue glitter on the flower. I just added a tiny flower inside to the flower center, and a crochet lace plus the sentiment is from Trendy feathers, and mounted the front panel against a brown base. Hope you all like it.

Here is another entry, this time using the colors orange, teal and wood and also picked up some green from the picture.

STAMPlorations CASE it
I chose this card to CASE, but I had made a very different card, I was inspired by the big heart in the center as a focal point, so I tried to create the look, instead of adding the sentiment panel, I added a lace and the sentiment separately.

Happy Little Stampers
I had used homemade embossing paste for this card.

 Masked the orange panel.

The second card is a simple card, I used the starts stencil, and sponged the stars using a gold ink, the shimmer is very hard to capture in the picture, but in real it is very evident.

I stamped the cake in black and colored using markers and added some wink of stella on the icing parts, and the sentiment panel is cut in oval, and the edges are distressed with some ochre ink.

A mononchromatic card

Hey everyone,
I am back with a simple card, was not well, and the mojo is sort of lost, I find it difficult to sit and make a card nowadays.I hope it is short term, and will be back soon.

I made a simple one layer card by using masking, I chose the trendy butterflies from STAMPlorations to make this card, and stamped the butterflies along one side, by masking, and added a butterfly using a foam adhesive to give some dimension to the card, and finished off with a simple sentiment from the same stamp set, and few pink rhine stones.

ATSM #132

Hey everyone, today its time for another challenge at ATSM, and the theme this time is Make Your Mark. You can choose to do anything with inks, stamps, sewing or really anything to make your mark on the card.

We are sponsored by QKR Stampeded, they are offering 3 digis to the winner.

I had made a simple card, I away from crafting nowadays, and gathered my strength to make this simple CAS card.
I chose a white base, and I used the pretty blooms stencils from STAMPlorations to stencil the flower, and then I went in with a brown ink and used a Tim Holtz burlap stencil to give more depth for my flower, and the leaves are also from STAMPloration set. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations - trendy feathers set.

I used a blue gel pen to add some sparkle to the flower center, That is it, a real simple one layer card.

A SHAKEr card for MOM

Hey everyone, today it is my turn to share a card at Catchy Challenges for my DT project. This moth's theme is shaker cards.

I had made a shaker card for mom, I chose a brown base, and chose baby pink front, I half embossed the front with animal print, and then used a die cut to cut out the bottom part. and created a shaker part in the bottom half. The sentiment I stamped is from Paper Smooches - sweet heart, and Hero arts- sketched letters.

A checkered ribbon, a chipboard strip with some words, and a bloom with some paper swirls to finish off.

Hope you like this simple card.

A new segment - Card Makers Corner #1

Hello everyone, my blog has turned an year old recently, and I am very pleased to announce that starting today onwards, I will be featuring one of the fellow crafters from the blogland. It will be a bi-monthly segment, so 2 crafters per month. I have asked them to share some of their experiences with me, I hope you enjoy reading through this segment.

My very first guest is Kylie Purtell  from Kylie is Addicted to Stamps.

She is a very talented card maker, and wonderful lady with a great sense of humour, she gave me my very first DT break at her very famous challenge blog - Addicted to Stamps and More. Kylie also runs another challenge blog Addicted to CAS. In addition to this, Kylie also makes wonderful personalized watermarks, blog headers, signatures, she is very talented at this, believe me, my watermark is done by her, and I simply love it. Click here to see her work, you will be impressed. I am going to stop here, and read what Kylie has about the questions I put forward for her.

1. Please tell us a little about yourself.
I am definitely a card making addict! I love learning new techniques and applying them to my cards. I own three challenge blogs - Addicted to Stamps and More, Addicted to CAS and Happy Little Stampers. I have met amazing people through my blogs and formed many friendships for which I am grateful. I have also created a craft forum called Happy Little Stampers and it is a great place to have discussions with like minded crafters.

2. What is crafting to you?( a stress buster for me)
I am a full time carer for my dad, so craft was a saviour for me. There are times he can be bed ridden for weeks so being able to create cards for my family and friends was something that helped my creative streak and fill in the hours.

3. If crafting was not you hobby, what else would be in its place? (Cooking for me)
I have tried to teach myself quilting (but I guess that's a craft too??) and have heaps of fabric and anything else needed to sew. I am restricted to only doing that in the cooler months because it is just way too hot where I live to be quilting for about 10 months of the year. I should spend more time on that but my card making and blogs are my first love.

4. Which are the very basic supplies you need to make a card? (Card base, some inks)
Definitely need card stock - can't start a card without that! I tend to stamp and use die cuts mostly on my cards so I couldn't live without stamps, ink, dies and my Bigshot.

5. What is a technique you are not good and want to excel? (so many for me)
I like to try Mixed Media cards every now and then. Some work but most of them end up in the bin. I love what people can create using all sorts of mixed media supplies. It doesn't come naturally to me and something I really have to work at. I am definitely a Clean and Simple type of gal :)

6. What is your best technique to you love? (sewing on cards ..lol)
I really love water-colouring. Even though it is unpredictable, I actually love that. The different results you get each time makes for some really unique cards. I'm no expert at the water-colouring techniques going around but it is fun to do.

7. Which are your all time 3 favorite cards?
I have made a LOT of cards over the last couple of years and I probably have quite a few that I have felt are my favorites. I think I will answer this by saying my 3 favorite types of cards are CAS, Shaker and Mixed Media. Below are the 3 favorite cards.

8. What is one thing we don’t know about you? (someday I will tell)
Some may know this but I was a volunteer for our Rural Fire Brigade and at times was the officer in charge. I got to drive the vehicles and have my learners permit to learn how to drive Heavy Vehicles (trucks etc). I attended car fires, house fires, bush fires and even helped cut a lady out of a car that was wrapped around a tree. I also assisted the Queensland Ambulance with emergencies and even got to drive the Ambulance once. I made friends for life as a volunteer and it was rewarding to contribute to the community.

9. What is the piece of advice fro crafters, whether new or seasoned?
Just keep looking at new techniques and keep trying. Try anything and everything until you get to know your own style. Once you realize that, it will be a piece of cake! Follow challenge blogs and other crafters who give you ideas and explain how they created their cards.

10. I know that all crafter are hoarders in some way, which one thing is in your stash and you can buy again and again? (card stocks)
I don't think I could ever have too many dies. It's quite silly to want more and more because sometimes I only use them once and forget about them. There are some I probably haven't used! But! I do love dies and there are even so many techniques you can incorporate them into they are so versatile than just cutting something out.

I hope you all have enjoyed reading about her. The next segment will be coming up on 1st March, She is another talented card maker, you will have fun reading about her. Keep an eye!

A dangling heart with a beaded heart

Hey everyone, hope you all are having a great day. I am up with a card after many days, was not feeling well so was away from crafting, as didn't feel like sitting down to make a card. Yesterday was in bed the whole day, but in the night sat down to make a card finally, and feel great after that.

I chose a white base, it is a one layer card. I started with die cutting the front, and then few more die cuts to make the shaker box, I stamped "love" inside, I used pink beads for the shaker part. I did beading on the front, using a red twine with pink beads.
Finally attached the hanging heart, and done.

A close up at the hanging heart.
